Do we have to select an operation type when processing interval transfer?

I have 6 locations in my warehouse and goods can be transferred between them.

When I select my operation type it defaults the source and destination location from the setup.

what is the best way to transfer goods between multiple locations in the warehouse

Hi Ahmed:

Yes, you need to select an Operation Type to process an Internal Transfer. The operation type determines the route that will be followed by the transfer.

What you have mentioned is correct...the default values for Source and Destination are populated when you change the Operation Type. However, you can go back and change them after selecting the Operation Type.

To avoid this, we have used the view extension mechanism to move the Operation Type field before the Location fields so that the user selects the Operation Type before changing the Locations.

Thank you for the feedback. This does work and Odoo should follow your footsteps.

Location hierarchy must all be correct.

Odoo has accepted and enhancement request for this. They are planning to take this up in Odoo 13.

Suppose, I have two warehouses (A and B), and I want to transfer products internally from A to B. Which operation type I should select? A: Internal Transfer or B: Internal Transfer? I mean Internal Operation type of source or destination?

Is It A or B in this situation?
