Which Ubuntu version, 12.04 or 16.04? Please be precise in such matters. If you really meant Ubuntu 12.04, you obviously can't use a guide made for 16.04. Besides that, forget about Ubuntu 12.04 anyway, it's too old and will reach end of life april this year.

If you really meant ubuntu 16.04 please edit your title and ask a specific question after you did troubleshoot common networking issues such as opening port 8069 in your firewall for example.

Hello,

i need to use the ubuntu 12.04 for a compatibility with my ethernet card. Maybe i will buy another pci ethernet for solve this problem but for now i have to use that ubuntu version. I'm trying a new guide to see if it will work. https://www.linode.com/docs/websites/cms/install-odoo-9-erp-on-ubuntu-14-04

Thanks

I'm afraid it will end up in a total mess but it will be a tedious and cumbersome work anyway. You'll have to check to check the versions of all dependencies of Odoo (see requirements.txt) for compatibility. You can try it by trial and error by reading the log files and trying to solve the problems step by step.

To be honest, that's really a meaningless endeavour.

Yes but the server don't support the pci card but other type so the cost is much more. I have install all correctly and when i run the command:

root@upsens:/var/log/odoo# /etc/init.d/odoo-server

startStarting odoo-server: odoo-server.

it start without problem. Instead the web page return the error ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE.

Seeing the /var/log/odoo/odoo-server.log this file is empty.

Thanks
