Import replenishment rules for product variants v16

I have a product set up with several variants (e.g. size and color), resulting in roughly 80 variants for a single product. I have setup a central warehouse and warehouses for the (retail) stores in which the products are sold. Consequently I should configure the replenishment rule for each product. As you might imagine, for 90% of these variants, the replenishment rules will be exactly the same: for the central warehouse it is buying from the (same) supplier, for the stores it is replenishing from the central warehouse. As there are 9 stores, that makes 10 replenishment rules. Apparently the replenishment rules are per product variant (not so strange as you might want different quantities for some variants). However, I would like to avoid creating 80 x 10 = 800 (!!) of these rules manually.

However, if I try to export (import-compatible) and import again, I get an error on the product. The export contains the product including variant specification (e.g. "Odoo T-shirt XL White"), but it is in fact a variant and if I replace it by "Odoo T-shirt L Black" (which is an existing variant), it does not accept this as a correct import ("no corresponding records found for the name in the field product"). It is also not possible to select something like the product variant in the export.

How can I avoid doing all this manual work and hence get the import to work?

Dear  Johan,

Before preparing the replenishment import sheet instead of entering product name please use the product variants external Id. Because the product variants external Id is a unique. If you want to take the product variants external Id go the main product and click on the  Variants smart button here you can export the product variants external Id.

Hi Ajin A K

Thanks for your feedback. I did got it to work.

Some additional info for people looking at this question/answer later:

The export/import should be done from the product variants. It is not possible to do it in the replenishment screen/view (which seems to be a bit like a bug, but anyway)
Remind (see other posts) that if you subsequently export/import from the variants view, you still need to alter the data (also a bug in my opinion and the opinion from the person who posted the other question): in the export the variant_id has "attribute_name_1: value_a1_for_variant, attribute_name_2:value_a2_for_variant" while the import should have the same field formatted as: "value_a1_for_variant,value_a2_for_variant" (mind also the lack of spaces in the import vs the export).
Thanks for the help!
