I have tried many methods of importing a large dataset with multiple tag fields but have not succeeded. How do I go about this?
i.e. Company | Industry | Sales Status | Account Status ABC Co | Farming | Hot Lead | Gold

You have to combine all your tags in a single colon by seperating it using a comma.
In my case, based on my excel file under the colon category_id, i put Company,Industry,Sales Status

When I face these sorts of problems, I create a record, manually, that represents the worst case of the data I want to be able to import. I then filter on it and export it. I check that I can re-import the exported file without difficulty. Finally, I study the exported CSV file to learn the correct field names and required syntax.
I wonder -- do you have a file of all needed tags that you import before trying to import your contacts?
