I have used both snippets below in my custom web page, but I am unable to merge both behaviours together.

The first snippet allows "live" search results as you type in the field, but does not return results when clicking the search magnifying glass.

The second snippet returns results when clicking the search magnifying glass, but does not return "live" search results as you type in the field.
