In Odoo POS, when I send an invoice to the customer, Odoo automatically generates and attaches the PDF invoice.

This process takes too much time and slows down the POS flow.


Is there any way to disable or stop the automatic generation of the invoice PDF attachment while sending the invoice from POS?

I hope you are doing well

Stop PDF Download in Odoo 18 POS:
JS (stop redirect/new tab):
  /** @odoo-module */
  import { patch } from "@web/core/utils/patch";
  import { PaymentScreen } from "@point_of_sale/app/screens/payment_screen/payment_screen";

  patch(PaymentScreen.prototype, {
      shouldDownloadInvoice() {
          return false;
      }
  });

Python (stop attachment):
  from odoo import models

  class PosOrder(models.Model):
      _inherit = 'pos.order'

      def _generate_pos_order_invoice(self):
          return super(PosOrder,     self.with_context(generate_pdf=False))._generate_pos_order_invoice()

Key files:
  - payment_screen.js:- triggers download
  - pos_order.py - generates PDF

Use JS fix to stop the new tab redirect.

It stops generating attachment but still redirect on new tab and download pdf.
May I stop the pdf via model or js?
