I need to receive an email in odoo12. I have successfully configured the Outgoing and Incoming email server and I am also able to send emails from odoo. but I am not able to receive the reply in odoo12

I have already referred a lot of documents related to this but still, I am not able to configure it properly. I am completely new with this feature of odoo. Could anyone provide the detail steps to receive an email in odoo12?
