I have only invoicing & sales modules installed. (no need for inventory)

my company sells services like "car rental" , which has a different cost everytime i sell it (according to contractors i deal with)

i defined "car rental" as a service, the only option i have it to enter a standard cost to it (which is meaningless) , and i can't see a way to put a variable cost to it , or to change that cost for a specific invoice.

is there a way to go around that?

Hi,

If you install the purchase module, you will get different costing methods such as Average, Standard and Real.

Here I think the cost price you referred is the sale price.  As your price of the service vary across the customers,  it will be better to add the price to invoice line manually each time.

If you are running a rental company of vehicles, have a look at this module , Fleet Rental Management : https://www.odoo.com/apps/modules/9.0/fleet_rental/

Thanks
