how to link unit price of products from purchase module to inventory module product cost
is there any backend code for it or any front end settings to make this possible

The Product cost depends on the Costing method in the Product Category.
Inventory-> Configuration-> Product Categories / Under the Inventory Valuation you can find the available option.
