How to have a salesperson in POS without creating a user? V11.0

Question

How is it possible to have salesperson who is an employee without a user to appear in POS salesperson list? The cashier (1 person) has a user and will select the salesperson (many) for each order for reporting purposes. Creating a user for each salesperson who will not be using the system at all will be costly.
Is It a solution to let the employee be a portal user and grant them access to POS in order for their names to appear in the salesperson list in the POS interface? Or we would get charged

No, it's not an option because user (cashier) is hardcoded in the pos system. you couldn't tweak the system so portal user/employee consider as a user.
BTW POS is part of community modules :)
