Hello, thank you for your recommendation. I have already edited the sshd_config file located at /etc/ssh/sshd_config, but I still cannot connect via SSH. I noticed that the SSH service stays active for only about 1 hour and then becomes unreachable again.

I installed Odoo version 18.0 using the TurnKey Linux

  1. SSH into the server manually:

    bash

    CopyEdit

    ssh root@192.168.2.91

  2. Edit the SSH configuration file:

    bash

    CopyEdit

    nano /etc/ssh/sshd_config

Make sure the following lines exist and are set as shown:

    ini

    CopyEdit

AllowTcpForwarding yes PermitOpen any X11Forwarding yes AllowAgentForwarding yes

  3. Restart the SSH service:

    bash

    CopyEdit

    systemctl restart ssh

(or systemctl restart sshd depending on the distro)
  4. Reconnect from VS Code:
    • Open Command Palette (Ctrl+Shift+P)
    • Choose Remote-SSH: Connect to Host...
    • Select 192.168.2.91
  5. Once connected, you can browse Odoo files (usually in /opt/odoo) and edit them in VS Code.

Why This Happens:

[VS Code’s Remote-SSH extension creates a secure TCP tunnel to run the VS Code server process remotely. If AllowTcpForwarding is disabled, this connection fails even if basic SSH login works. ]
