At my previous previous job we had a custom eCommerce platform dealing with a lot of punchout customers and we got in contact with someone at Vurbis Interactive. They implemented the entire punchout process for us, both OCI and cXML. Seeing as there are multiple people asking for it, I'm sure if you get in touch with them they'd be up for it.

It was mentioned to me a couple of months ago that odoo has an EU-based partner for this.  I've reached out to verify this and will post the answer when I get it.  In the meantime: 

If anyone needs assistance with this integration process - happy to support your efforts.  We support the gateway functions and provide cXML/JSON API exchange or can simply provide documentation/advice/other, so you can work directly with your client's cXML.    

You don't need a "gateway" for this integration but it can make your project move faster.  If you have more than one buyer wanting to engage with you then a gateway approach is ideal.  That said, it's 2018: you can either be the gateway or subscribe to one.

I know this is a year latter, but were you able to find out anything on this as I have a customer needing the same thing?

I think it can be implemented but might give a lot of headache since you will be the first one (probably not) with odoo doing it.

if you don't want to run server for cxml, check with gateway options.
