I am selling paint in big cans of 3 liters. My customers want me to give them the price per liter, even though I am not selling per liter. What is the best configuration for my products?

Here we have 4 different options, each has its own pros and cons.
Option 1: Price/L with packaging
Sales price per liter (5€)
UoM = L
Packaging = 3L jar; quantity = 3, UoM = L
Pros: The price per liter is displayed on the SO
Cons: You have to manually choose the right packaging when creating the SO + it allows users to choose another quantity than the jar (ex: sell 2L or 4L)
Option 2: Price/3L with no specific UoM
Sales price is x3 the price per litre (15€)
UoM = Units
No packaging
Pros: The users cannot choose another quantity than the 3L jar
Cons: No display of the price per liter for the client (except with Studio)
Option 3: Price/3L with UoM
Sales price is x3 the price per litre (15€)
UoM = 3L
No packaging
Pros: On the quotation, the UoM per default will be 3L but have the possibility to change it to L instead of 3L, and the price varies accordingly. This is useful if sometimes you still sell per liter. If you don’t, there is not much added value compared to option 3.
Cons: No display of the price per liter for the client (except with Studio)
Option 4: Use of the Base Unit Price feature
Activate the Base Unit Price (v15.2 & previous) / Product Reference Price (v15.3) feature in the Website app settings
On your product form, add the base unit count & name (note: if you have variants, you need to configure this on the variant form)
On the SO lines, add with Studio a related field (product > price per unit)
Add the new field on your report
Pros: Smoothest option to have the price per liter displayed on your SO without having the possibility to sell per liter
Cons: You need to have the Website app and Studio installed
Note that the first three options are explained in more detail in the videos here:
