We have frequent recurring tasks that we would like to track, such as accounting, janitorial, housekeeping tasks. How can we set up tasks to recur - ideally only once the previous instance is complete. This is a pretty common feature in other systems, but non obvious in Odoo.

UPDATE: I am currently using G Suite and so my calendar is integrated into Odoo. When i need a recurring task (i.e. reconcile bank "x" at the end of each month) I make it in the calendar. This way I am notified both in Odoo as well as normal G Suite notifications (phone, desktop etc.). It works, but it would be nice if all Odoo tasks could have recurrence; it seems an obvious next step.
For the end-user there does not appear to be any simple way to generate recurring tasks.
Possible Workaround: Another user has posted a similar request to Freelancer. You might get in touch with him or any of the nine developers bidding on this ongoing project. Average cost is about AUD$200.
I'm looking for someone who can create a custom Odoo module for v8 which would add the option of making Project Task objects recurrent in the same way that calendar events can be made recurrent.
For example, I want to be able to create a task - e.g. 'Send monthly e-blast newsletter' - and make that task recurrent so that a task is generated for the first Wednesday in every month for the next twelve months.
The generated tasks need to be independent so that if I mark one of them as done or delete one, the other generated tasks are not affected.

Have you tried server action to recur the document ? Probably you can achieve by creating server actions.
I am not a developer. I'm looking for a user solution. This is a standard feature in project / task management tools, where the user can select "repeat task" and have it repeat. Simple systems just duplicate the task into the future. Better systems create a new duplicate task when the old task is complete.
Even if I was an engineer, I can't expect my accountant to create a server action for all the recurring tasks she as, nor should she have to ask for someone else to do it for her.
Is there a forum that is more appropriate for users as opposed to developers? This forum seems to only result in developer centric solutions.
