Hi all

Found Odoo and have been trying it for a client and our situation is rather unique and I can't seem to find a way to use the UOM to solve it.

In our business, the factory (run as a separate division) creates the products and packs them in either 25 or 50kg large bags, clients do purchase these bags as a bulk order but most buy the 10kg and the 100 or 1000 pieces / units packs. In our inventory, we have one item code that has all these different packages which must be acccounted for, my idea is that variants can be used but it doesn't seem to go far enough. The warehousing / dispatch staff can repack into any, generally, they pack downwards (ie, from larger to smaller packs).

We need to have all these packs tracked in both KGs and pieces through the use of a approximate weight to pieces conversion, this is advantageous as we repack to fulfill client requirements or we discount certain packages instead and that depends on stock levels of each. Clients place orders based on both Kgs as well as pieces, ie, they will order 20000 pieces in 100s packs or they will order 100kgs, etc.
