Hi! I am facing an embarrassing problem: I have installed openerp on a ubuntu 12.04 and everything works fine, I have configured the ftp_module but I cannot get the physical path on my server. Connecting with admin@localhost:8021 I see folders and files, but what I want is to find the real location of the file (e.g. /opt/.../).

I have also configured the "ir_attachment.location" parameter to "file:///filestore" and it happens that after saving an attachment I see both a new file on the ftp location (with correct name) and the same file in the /opt/openerp/server/openerp/filestore/ with a coded name.

Is there anybody who can help me? thanks!

Hy,

Facing the same problem. OpenERP don't let you use human readable directory structure. Everything is virtual. You won't be able to have some human readable name or stuff like that on the physical location. If you use FTP or webdav, you will have files correctly displayed etc... but not on your hard drive. It's a sad aspect of document management even if I understand the reason why.
