hi ,

i want to install odoo v9 in ubuntu 14.04

i install odoo using .deb file but after i run

sudo dpkg -i odoo-9.0.latest_all.deb

it show

after when i try to open server with localhost:8069 so it show error like

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete your request. Either the server is overloaded or there is an error in the application.

i am nor understand what the actual problem is , please help.

It seems to be a problem filling the demo data into the database.

I don't know if the DEB package creates a service for odoo, but if the server is running, try to stop it with:

sudo service odoo stop

And then, try to reset the db with the following lines:

sudo -H -u odoo dropdb odoo
sudo -H -u odoo createdb odoo

You should be able to start odoo again and see if this time the load is successful:

sudo service odoo start

The package installer does create a service for odoo, see https://www.odoo.com/documentation/9.0/setup/install.html#setup-install-packaged

Why don't you follow the official instruction for packaged installers: https://www.odoo.com/documentation/9.0/setup/install.html#setup-install-packaged

You only have to replace "8.0" with "9.0".
