I have equipment (a machine) that requires specific parts, such as Product A, for maintenance or service. How can I calculate the current inventory of Product A and track how many units are used throughout the year for this equipment? Which Odoo module should I use for this, and can you explain how to set it up?

If your intent is to track only the movement of components to this equipment, in my opinion simplest would be to 1. Have the equipment as a 'contact' 2. create a delivery operation to transfer the components (Product A) to this contact.
You can then report consumed components (product A) from Inventory > Reporting > Stock Moves Group by contact or filter by specific contact (Equipment)
Stock availability (current inventory) for Product A can be viewed from Inventory > Reporting > Moves History or from the product template Inventory > Products > Products and search for specific product (Product A)
With the repairs App the components (Product A) would be consumed during the repair process. (WH/Stock to Virtual Locations/ Production), so you might have to filter by appropriate destination location

If you can maintain the machine as a storable product, then by using repair module you can track the requested option. But need test properly.

By using default Odoo features, you cannot fulfill this requirement. By doing some customization, it's possible. The concept is that while issuing the material to an asset or an equipment, the stock value of the material will reduce, and the corresponding expense account will be affected. You can select the equipment (analytic account) during material delivery. At the end of the year, you'll get the report based on the analytical account. In simple words, the profitability of an equipment.
