I'm creating mailings using the email  marketing module, and after the mails are sent, I go to the campaign detail and I see the error message "NN email(s) have been ignored and will not be sent". When I go to the details I can see a list of valid email addresses, but no explanation why the email was not sent. 

How can I get a detailed explanation?

Did you check the log entries?

Did you checked your EMAIL SMTP settings for Outgoing Email ?

@Ermin, it looks like Odoo deliberately filtered those emails, so, there is no error message in the logs as it seems not to be an error, but some rule.

@Sunny, it is not an SMTP problem as the rest of the emails (~90%) were sent. The filtering happens BEFORE they are sent to the SMTP.

I have the same issue today, we are quite new with the Email Marketing app. And I am still in need of a solution though.

One reason I can think of: might it happen because the email was created from a duplicate mailing? We have two mailings which are only used as a template for future mailings. For each new mailing, we just create a duplicate from them and change the content. Can this be the cause?

I have investigated this further:

1. Took a duplicate of an already sent email with recipients some 'contacts' filtered with a certain label. (no mailinglist used) ==> recipients got ignored.

2. Tool a second duplicate and used a newly created mailing list, made from export 'contacts' filter with a certain label and importing them as mailing list.

==> recipients got ignored.

3. Made new email and used the newly created mailing list, from 2.

==> SUCCESS sent to all!

4. Made a new email and used 'contacts' filter with labels

==> SUCCESS and sent to all

To avoid 'ignored emails'.

a) create a new email each time (do not use duplicates)

b) avoid using the setting 'marketing campaign' (proposal from the Odoo team itself)

It can avoid a lot of stress and work.... :-)

Hello gentlemen,

I was hitting this same behavior recently with one of our Odoo 12 version.

Having had a look at it, it appears that these e-mails were "ignored" because... they were already send !

All the adresses listed as "ignored" were actually due to duplicas in the original mailing list...

That sounds reasonable, I did some testing and have sent the mails several times. But needs further investigation.

I had the same 'issue'. A mail was ignored, but it was because the contact was present twice in the contact's app. :)

@twanda, I mean, Odoo is filtering those emails for a reason, like it detected the domain as invalid or something like that. I didn't meant it like "Odoo is sabotaging me"

In my case, when I looked up some of the recipients, I can see that they opted out of the mailing.  To check this I went to the mailing list, removed the "valid recipients" filter.  Then filtered on "opt out" is true.  All of the ones ignored so far I found opted out. (I only checked a handful of them).

Hi guys! I have the exact same issue (V12 Enterprise). Has someone found out why valid recipients are literally just being ignored?
