I'm doing a 15 day free trial. At first I could Duplicate a product but that option has now disappeared. Is that because I have added more apps or have I unchecked a box anywhere by mistake?

The option has disappeared. How do I get it back? Where are the technical settings you are referring to?
In Odoo, product form have default option "Duplicate" to create duplicate products. You can goto the product form and from menu Actions >> with option "Duplicate" you can duplicate the product.
(If you have done any changes of the technical settings then option "Duplicate" can be removed from the Action menu.)
