Hi,

I would like to set up my own chart of accounts. I have everything ready to import in a CSV but I cannot delete the default chart of accounts. I get this error:

You cannot remove/deactivate an account which is set on a customer or vendor.

I haven't set any customer or supplier yet... I actually haven't set anything, chart of accounts is the first thing I am trying to do on this fresh install.

How can I do a clean chart of accounts without the default codes?

How about marking obsolete for the default CoA. By doing it will hide thje obsolete CoA from default CoA page and prevent showing it in dropdown from other module.

Recode and rename the Accounts instead of deleting them

If you are using Odoo 8.0, there is a module to update your chart of accounts from account templates: https://www.odoo.com/apps/modules/8.0/account_chart_update/

If you are using 9.0, you can browse your contacts/vendors/customers to find the culprit. Delete it, if you can and try again. If you can't delete it, filter the default accounts receivables and account payables out and delete the rest of the accounts. You can change these 2 accounts manually afterwards.
