Hello - I am new to Odoo, allow me to ask anyone if for us to use CRM we also need to get invoicing app?

I am seeing comments about error on accounts payable and receivable when creating opportunity in CRM which i am experiencing the same and I saw that the solution should be setting up chart of accounts in invoicing or accounting.

However need to confirm my understanding that to be able to use CRM seamlessly, doest it mean i need to setup CRM and invoicing and pay for the two apps license?

Thanks and I hope aomeone could help clarify...

Thanks

I think I already realize the problem, when i uninstall the invoicing, it removed also the sales and POS, and i was able to create opportunity from CRM.. I think thats because there is a sequence that needs to be followed if you have Invoicing, Sales, POS installed if you were to use CRM....

Agree...

But the concern is not about invoicing. The concern is about CRM where every time i tried to  create opportunity the problem on accounts payable and receivable keeps popping up.

The scenario is because I have accounting, invoicing, POS, Sales all installed separately. So when I uninstall all these and left CRM installed. I was able to create opportunities in CRM seamlessly without the error. This solves my problem on creating opportunities without the above error..

I agree that I don't need to setup default accounts if invoicing is not installed of course....

As written in my answer, if you have setup Invoicing, you need to define the default accounts payable and receivable on order to create customers (and opportunities, but not for leads only).

If you don't know how to define the default accounts, please ask a corresponding question and specify your Odoo version.

Your own answer is not correct. If you install invoicing, you need to setup default accounts payable and receivable in order to be able to create customers or vendors. This is also valid then, if you want to create customers from CRM. If you do not create customers in CRM, you do not have a problem, even if Invoicing is installed. Also there is no need to setup default accounts, if Invoicing is not installed, of course.
