Hi all,


we use Odoo 14 CE on our servers. We also use the module "Odoo Advance Email Configurator" (https://apps.odoo.com/apps/modules/14.0/advanced_email_configurator/) to get the inbound and outbound servers for our users setup worry free which has been working really great so far.


Yesterday we got calls from different customers that they got mail bombs from us. We needed some time to figure out Odoo was sending these mails.


These mails contain following content:

"Hi, Your document has not been created because your email address is not recognized. Please send emails with the email address recorded on your employee information, or contact your HR manager."


This only happens when a user which has the inbound/outbound servers configured in Odoo gets mails from senders, which are not in Odoo. For example newsletters.


Solution was to delete all outgoing mail servers in Odoo to break the mail loops and stop the mail bombing.


Many companies now have blocked our mail addresses from their inboxes which is very very bad for business communication.


Does anybody know what is happening here?
