When entering a contact in the module if you check "Individual" you are offered to enter a company name, whereas if you check "business" you are not. Any ideas why this is incorrect?: See below

Hi,
In Odoo, you can save the contact details of individuals as well as companies. So if we select the contact of a company the required information of the employees will also be displayed under the Contacts and Addresses title. By clicking on the individual contact, contact details such as Name of the contact, Name of the company, Address, Company Address, Tax ID, Job Position, Phone, Mobile, Email, Website Link, Title, and Tags.

In Odoo, when creating a new contact, you can choose
between creating an "Individual" or a "Company" contact. If the contact
is categorized as an individual, providing a company name is optional.
In such cases, only the individual's name is required. However, when
inputting information for a company contact, specifying the company name
becomes obligatory.

Yes but an individual does not need a Company Name - try putting a new contact in in Odoo 17.....
Hi Jonathan: The company name is not a mandatory field. It is used for linking individuals to a company if they are to be set up as a contact for that company. If you are dealing directly with the individual as a customer/vendor, you don't need to select a company in that field.

If you are selling direct to consumers, you don't need to link them to a company. But you do if you are always selling to businesses.
