I have been testing community v11, using it rarely, only a few contacts,  a couple projects/tasks, sample 2 page website, and only one or 2 other users rarely, I have many modules installed but only using a couple.   I got memory errors from my hosting (rose) and they suggested starting with 2cores, 2 gig, and after a couple errors recommended to upgrade  to

4 CPU Cores

4 GB RAM

100 GB SSD Storage

6 TB Data Transfer

Now I just got another error and Rose Hosting said I should upgrade yet again to 6 cpu cores, 8gig ram, at 88 dollars a month.     Now I am still barely using any odoo functionality and with 1 less than full time user and hardly any data loaded populated into it.

Does this seem right? Does odoo require a lot of server horsepower?      I am apprehensive rolling this out to 5-10 users if this is a linear progression of hosting cost could ramp up quite a bit.   it'd quickly become cost prohibitive over something else.

anyone else have this issue?

Can you edit your post and add the text or the actual error and the contents of your odoo.conf file? It sounds like you have plenty of resources.

I'm running up to 10 databases with websites on Amazon EC2 t2.small instances (1 vCPU, 1 GB memory).

With Odoo's default setup without any performance tuning.

hosting said they "optimized" our database so it should run better,  but scratching head, we don't have hardly any data in it or are using it!   surprising seeing you hosting multiple databases on a smaller platform.  hmmmmm
