Hi

New user of Odoo platform, in the process to validate it, I'm becoming crazy with account management. I have created my odoo account with an email. I then changed it and validated it. If I go on the my url (sorry not allowed to post url :( it displays the new email but when I try to login on odoo it still accepts only the old email !!

Why ? I thought it was an unique account for whole platform of Odoo but it looks like not, no ?

Thanks

Some assumptions, but I guess it's hitting the nail...

  1. You've registered an account at odoo.com
  2. You've subscribed to Odoo Online
  3. You've got your own Odoo database for your own business (i.e. my-company.odoo.com)

Long story short, no, your odoo.com-account and your my-company.odoo.com-account are not the same. You can still use your odoo.com-account for logging in to your own database though. This can be done by utilizing odoo.com as an OAuth Provider, if you wish to do so.

What you need to make sure is that you first set up OAuth Authentication by navigating to Settings --> General Settings -> Integrations and activate OAuth: Authentication.

Next, go to Settings -> Users & Companies -> Users, open your user and then navigate to the Oauth-Tab. In here, select Odoo.com Accounts as your OAuth Provider and enter YOUR OAuth User ID. You can find your own user ID by referring to this recent post: https://www.odoo.com/forum/1/280667#answer-280848

Now you can use the Sign in with Odoo.com button at your database's login screen as well:

You are fully right about process I followed and thanks a lot for explanations ;) but there is something wrong I think somewhere. If I try to login on odoo.com and it displays new email.... How is that possible ?

Thanks

Not sure what you mean with 'new email'. I don't know your account details. Your odoo.com-account and your my-company.odoo.com-account are not synced with each other (are not updating each other), they are just linked by the user ID you've entered in your database (when you login to your database using OAuth, odoo.com will return your user ID to your database so it can know whom to let into the system and what permissions are granted to that user). So it's perfectly possible that the email address in odoo.com differs from the one that has been used in your own database. If this is the case you have to manually change the email address in your database.
