Hi, this is my first install of Odoo 11 no previous experience. installed on a Linux Box. So far all seems to work, the only thing I cannot activate is that any user signing in, to see the homepage with the app Icons (as seen in many tutorial or video) I have only access to a tree type menu on the left and the module names on the top.

What you see in this examples is the enterprise version, the community version by default has the tree type menu. If you want to have a similar look and feel you can install one of the backend themes https://apps.odoo.com/apps/themes/category/Backend?series=11.0, the most popular is the one from OpenWorx https://apps.odoo.com/apps/themes/11.0/backend_theme_v11/
