I keep having problems to add the VAT to my contacts, please help

First, you have to make sure you have a valid VAT. You can check here https://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/vies/?locale=en & https://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/vies/faqvies.do.
If you still can´t add your VAT, the alternative will be to go to APPS> search for the module VAT Number Validation, uninstall it and import/add the VAT´s. Install it again
