After selecting initial programs I get redirected to the main odoo page, no database is created.

Same problem here!
Still no answer!!! What is wrong with you guys? I am trying to educate students using odooo. Local version does not have all the modules installed due to the lisence. Web version does not allow to create edu database.
Online installation. odoo.com -> My databases -> Create -> Choose initial programs (for ex. CRM) -> set information about the company -> I get redirected to odoo main page.

share more info regarding, how and where the odoo is set up, what you receive on creating on db etc
I have the same problem. A few days ago, I was advised from Odoo to use mobile data connection. I did it and it worked. :-o
