I need to create a backup to test some changes without affecting the original database.
Is this possible?

I would like to inform you that you can create a duplicate database by following the steps below:
Database Manager → Action button → Manage → Scroll down → Duplicate

-> Odoo Online : Log in to your Odoo portal, go to My Databases, select Manage, and then click Download Backup.
-> Odoo On-Premise: Access the database manager directly at yourdomain.com/web/database/manager and click the Backup link for the specific database.

Yes, this is absolutely possible in Odoo.
You can create a backup of your current database from the Database Manager and then restore it as a new database. This will give you a separate copy where you can safely test changes without impacting the original database.
Alternatively, if you have access to the database duplication option, you can directly duplicate the existing database and use it as a testing environment.
