Dear Odoo community,

I am currently trying to find out how to use Odoo to manage SaaS subscriptions. My goal is to enable our clients to manage their subscriptions. They should be able to change the number of seats (upsell). As far as I understand the documentation correctly only internal sales agents can do this upsell in the subscriptions module. Is it a correct assumption that a client (portal user) can not change their subscriptions in the portal?

If this is true what would be a good implementation approach?

Is it a feasible option to build a custom plugin for the portal that adds this feature?

I really appreciate any information or best practices in this area.

Thanks a lot

Niels

I'd suggest you try it out yourself by creating a database and testing it out here:

https://www.odoo.com/trial

After 4 hours the trial ends, but you can create a new one without a problem, or you can extend it if you intend to use the enterprise edition (but that might come at a price depending on the number of modules installed).

That said, as far as I know, whenever you create a sale order you can add optional products, which the customer can ignore or add at the sale order. That is without any customization, not sure if this will help or you need something more specific.
