Should the server being hosted outside or inside the LAN?
Outside: easy access for everyone (parents, externals...)
Inside: faster access for everyday users (teachers, admins...)

from my point of view, you have to host it inside because it's very fast and no other costs you have to pay.
but if you want to outside then your students and teachers also work online via the host.
