Odoo 12 - installation from scratch

postgresql 11

postgis 3.0.1


I have installed the modules without errors (base_geospatial & base_geospatial_demo). Both downloaded from the OCA apps store.


But when going to the GeoEngine Demo menu, and clicking on the map icon, the map doesn't loads.


I have no errors on the server log (Debug mode), and I don't know what else review.


I have updated npm, rtlcss and nodejs. Nothing works.


I have checked that it works ok on the OCA's runbot, so I discard browser's problems.


Any suggestion?

Hello Fernando, 

These modules also requires two additional libraries 

pip install Shapely

http://pypi.python.org/pypi/Shapely 

pip install geojson

https://pypi.org/project/geojson/

If you have already installed these libraries then you can check error by right clicking on your browser and select "Inspect Element"

Inside the inspect element there is console tab.

Inside the console tab you can check the exact error.

Hi Anisha, 

I have a Docker installation with two containers: one for the web, and another for the db.

The Shapely and the geojson are installed on the web container during the build process throught "apt-get install python3-shapely geojson".

The browser's console does not show any errors.

When clicking on the map icon, a small notification appears on the lower right corner of the web wich says "Loading". Then, the grey curtain covers the screen with the message "Loading". But in less than a second it disapears and only shows the web on the "list" view, and doesn't loads the map.

Try by enabling developer mode with assets

Tooltip error seems also to be related with an error with other css file

Hey Fernando,

It seems like module is not updated at your Odoo end because some css/js files are not correct in your module.

So it is better if you will uninstall this module

then pull the updated module from

https://github.com/OCA/geospatial/tree/12.0

then reinstall this extension.

you can also check the updated extension by login through runbot

Hi Anisha!!!

You where right, the module in the OCA app store is outdated and does not work properly with recent packages.

Just downloaled the github repository, installed the module, and it's working!!!
