Hi,

I am not about to decide either buy Odoo as hosted enterprise solution or let it be hosted on our own servers.

Testing online instances like invoicing arise the following questions:

  • Is there a chance to get tax (20%) added automatically when adding a product

  • When adding a new product/customer are there any super-hidden features for tax?

So far my workflow:

  1. Adding customer - CHECK

  2. Adding new product with standard tax 20% - CHECK

  3. Creating new invoice - ok

  4. Now I add the customer - ok

  5. Last but not least the product (like TEST - 10 EUR, 20% Tax --> 12 EUR)

Everything works but the line item's tax-field stays empty and the total invoice-tax states 0,00 EUR. Is there a chance to get it added? As other ERP solutions are adding tax automatically anyhow. So why do I have to check/choose tax here for every product line?

Best,

Dan

This is solely a matter of proper setup, please check https://www.odoo.com/documentation/user/9.0/accounting.html

well I was able to do the task on an offline-machine (Ubuntu) but not online. Guess the online-trial misses some features?

I would double check the configuration of the items in inventory. I do not have to add tax when adding items to the quotation. I set the tax rate on the item when I add it into inventory, and it automatically adds it when I place it into the quote. Did that help any?

Note: Im using the self hosted community edition, so the online version may differ?
