I have product A -- made from Input 1 and Input 2 -- we like to keep our accounting books for COGS by input so we have an account for COGS for input 1 and COGS for input 2.

I can get the inventory valuation to work just fine for everything separately -- but how do I get it so that when I sell Product A -- Odoo automatically records COGS for Input 1 and Input 2 separately?

Currently the COGS all goes under whatever account is set for expense on Product A

Set FIFO costing on the product category. It will post cost from input 1 until all qty is consumed and then post cost from input 2.  if a delivery use both cost from inout 1 and 2 the cost will a weighted average in accounting.

Also recommend to use Anglosaxen accounting, as it will post the product cost in the invoice, sp you easy can report acutal margin.

Hello,

The query focuses on that you created a product from input 1 and input 2, as per standard the cost will be posted under the expense account specified on the product. If you would like to have the price divided you can record the same in analytic account.

For example, Product 1 created for Rs. 20, where input 1 incur rs. 10 cost and input 2 incur rs.10, so technically the cost will be reflected as rs.20, while the product A is been sold for the amount of 100, so the analytic distribution can include the percentage of 10% for respective inputs. You can have the analytic filter in the reporting as well. Here is the documentation for further clarity on analytic account: https://www.odoo.com/documentation/17.0/applications/finance/accounting/reporting/analytic_accounting.html
