Hi,

We are a distributing agency for Industrial Products. We do not Manufacture Products, Just buy and sell them.

However we have certain parts which can be sold in different combinations. For E.g

Part Number 1, Part Number 2, Part Number 3 are our products.

What I want to do is to be able to create Part Number 4 which has Part Number 1 & 2 as components and Part Number 5 which has Part number 2 & 3 as component. As pricing would warry depending upon the combination.

Since we do not manufacture we have not installed Manufacturing Module --> BOM

I am a very new user. Please help on how to achieve the assembly parts whose stocks are depended on component parts

Thanks a lot... I tried it, and it works. It is just that i didn't want to add unnecessary modules so had not tried Manufacturing one.

I think you still can use BOM, just set the BOM type to "Sets/Phantom".

The explanation on OpenERP "When processing a sales order for this product, the delivery order will contain the raw materials, instead of the finished product."

I think that is the great way for a company who is not manufacturing but only just assembling.
