The Contact Form module is not installing from a stock odoo installation I am running on my server. It seems to be failing with this line:

Element '<xpath expr="//div[@name='mail_button']">' cannot be located in parent view

Any help would be appreciated in getting this thing installed. The blog module (which requires this module) seems to have been partially installed despite this error, which led to some errors in the blogging module.

The full error log is shown here:

Please check if you have a web page "Contact Us" (qweb template: website_contactus). If not, make sure you have all dependencies of the Module Contact Form installed. Update all relevant modules and restart Odoo.

Look for the class "mail_button" in the QWEB template "website.contactus", this is the XML-node, which will be replaced by the Contact Form in its xpath statement:

I have a Contact us page. But no contact form in it. Trying to install the Contact Form module leads to the error above. The dependencies on the module titled Contact Form have apparently been installed. Right now it just seems stuck and I can only choose Cancel Install.

It works perfectly, when installed properly and the code of the "Contact Us" page is not modified. The code for the contact form replaces the "Send Mail" button on the regular "Contact Us" page, so please go to this page and check using the HTML editor, if you can find the class "mail-button" (see my amended answer). If you can't find it, you have screwed your Odoo somehow.

Thanks. That gave me enough information to solve it. I found a working instance of odoo 10 and pasted those two lines where the contact button was placed, and the contact form could then be properly installed.
