In addition to Dhinesh' helpfull post, here are the slides for the new API conversion: http://www.slideshare.net/openobject/odoo-from-v7-to-v8-the-new-api

I am afraid that none of the content referred to above is in a form that makes it all accessible. Before expending lots of effort to understand how to extract meaningful information from them is it possible to get answers to the following questions. 1) The documents hosted on github - is this the definitive reference guide - if so how come 01-getting-started still refers to launchpad, which is as far as I know deprecated months ago 2) How to extract this information - what do we need to install to get something useful out of this repository - strange but I thought that the invention of html 20 years ago was meant to help with things like this. thanks kurt

I'm not quite sure what you are trying to say kurt. Are you worried about documentation not being central, because in that case I think they will be updating the official documentation very soon (doc.odoo.com). If you are worried about not being able to find any usefull information then it is either a case of searching better or have a better understanding of the functionality using the existing code and the advantage of odoo being an open source project. I have found no difficulty whatsoever building modules using these techniques yet.

Dear Ludo,

please can you tell me which thread on which system this comment relates to.

thanks

Kurt

Those links on Github no longer work. Both throw a 404 Page Not Found error.
