Curio ehf
Curio ehf started traditional machine production in 1994 but now focuses on fish processing machines for decapitation, filleting and skinning. The company introduced a new machine line for fish processing in 2008 which broke through, but in the middle of that year the first head was produced from that line. The first filleting machine of the new type was also launched in the summer of 2008 and that year about 14 machines of that type were ordered. From 2008 to 2012, Curio's production capacity was three to four machines per year, but with the company moving to new and larger premises in 2011, the company can now produce one to two machines per month. Curio's technicians and designers are constantly working on the development of our fish processing machines with the aim of improving durability, utilization and speed. Curio machines are known for good utilization and popularity of the machines and the reputation is steadily increasing.
We set up the frames with a laser and then weld them together. We have washing and acid facilities where we start by degreasing the frame. Then we let them dry and spray them with fluoric acid. It mattes the surface and does it evenly. It is then rinsed off and a weak solution of hydrochloric acid is then sprayed over to kill the fluoric acid. Finally, spray over soot-rich soap that kills the hydrochloric acid. This treatment makes the surface much more resistant to corrosion. When the surface is dry, we apply the nutrient that enters the steel and closes it.
