Before Odoo: Managing Growth 
Without Clear Visibility


Before turning to Odoo, Clark Influence relied on a combination of Google Workspace and QuickBooks to manage operations. As the number of projects and clients increased, information became fragmented across spreadsheets and documents, making it hard to ensure consistency and accuracy.

Project management wasn’t very efficient. The company had no visibility into the time spent by employees, which made it difficult to calculate actual project profitability. Internal communication also suffered from the lack of a centralized system, leading to errors and misalignment.

To prepare the company for its next stage of growth, Anne-Julie brought her experience with ERPs and system integration to the table. Her goal was clear: find an integrated solution that could centralize data, improve project tracking, enhance internal communication, and give leadership real-time insights into profitability and performance.

Clark Influence briefly considered large-scale systems like SAP and NetSuite but quickly ruled them out as too costly and unsuitable for the agency’s size and needs. The team conducted a more in-depth evaluation of Zoho and Odoo, meeting with representatives and testing their features, but ultimately found that Odoo offered a better overall experience in terms of user interface, functionality, and customer support.

Odoo Becomes the Backbone of Clark Influence


Anne-Julie first heard about Odoo through industry experts and ERP professionals she consulted during the software evaluation process. After initial discussions with several partners and Odoo’s account management team, the agency decided to move forward with the implementation.

The process wasn’t without challenges. In the beginning, the team tried to make Odoo fit their existing processes instead of following the system’s native logic and adapting accordingly. “That was our biggest mistake,” Anne-Julie admits. While the implementation was successfully achieved, some of their custom developments made system upgrades more complex.

Although Clark Influence completed its first transformation in about four to five months, they soon realized that several of their custom developments became obsolete once Odoo released new native features. This experience was an important lesson: not only that following Odoo’s standard framework ensures long-term scalability and smoother version migrations, but it also showed that the software was growing along their side.

Over time, Anne-Julie came to appreciate how Odoo continues to evolve, constantly enhancing existing features while introducing new capabilities that align with Clark Influence’s needs.

Clark Influence started with 11 users in 2021. Today, they have 50+ users working seamlessly on Odoo. The system has become essential to their daily operations, supporting their evolution from a creative boutique to a global marketing agency.

Being partially Belgian herself, Anne-Julie appreciated that Odoo also originated in Belgium, a detail that made the partnership feel even more special

Adoption was smooth thanks to the company’s young, tech-savvy workforce. Anne-Julie also played a key role in creating internal training guidelines, ensuring every department understood how to use Odoo effectively.

What’s Next for 
Clark Influence



After successfully scaling on Odoo, Clark Influence is now preparing for its migration to version 18. The plan, in 2026, is to review existing configurations, optimize them, and then expand to new applications that will support further automation and business intelligence.
