Socket.io aims to make realtime apps possible in every browser and mobile device, blurring the differences between the different transport mechanisms. Using this component inside OpenERP allows to create very interesting features, bringing real collaboration into OpenERP starting from version 7.

This presentation will introduce the core socket.io integration module and several derivatives, such as live notifications popups, instant messaging, a live kanban, or a contact form automatically raising on a phone call.
