What are we looking for?

A Tax Specialist to be the technical and operational lead for the tax discipline at Odoo Mexico. In a high-transactional environment, we are looking for a problem-solving expert to execute internal tax processes, coordinate an analyst’s support, and manage the operational interaction with our external firm. Your mission is to ensure the operation is technically sound, reporting directly to Finance Leadership to guarantee Odoo’s full tax compliance.

Problem-solving expert: Capacity to identify flaws in operational processes and propose structural corrections.
Analytical Rigor: Focus on information traceability and the precision of tax balances.

Responsibilities

Tax Compliance & Reporting: Oversee internal tax analysts and external consultants to ensure the accurate filing of ISR, VAT, and withholdings.Achieve monthly sales objectives
Fiscal Cycle & Year-End: Execute complex tax reconciliations and technical cleanup of key items (CUCA, CUFIN, Transfer Pricing, and Inflation Adjustments).Negotiate and contract
International Tax Strategy: Manage cross-border compliance, including double taxation treaties, BEPS guidelines, and indirect taxes (VAT/GST) across LATAM.
Strategic Advisory: Provide technical support to Sales, Procurement, and HR to ensure tax-compliant invoicing, deductibility, and "business purpose" across all transactions.
Regulatory & Audit Defense: Lead the technical response to SAT inquiries and coordinate the annual tax audit (SIPRED) with solid legal and accounting support.
Digital Reconciliation: Proactively monitor and reconcile SAT portals against the ERP to resolve discrepancies in real-time.

Must Have

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field. A Specialization or Master’s in Taxes is highly desirable.
6 to 8 years of experience in corporate taxes, with a solid background in top-tier international consulting firms.
Operational experience handling SAT requirements and the ability to identify the root cause of tax contingencies.
Advanced Professional English (B2 or higher), capable of defending technical positions to Global HQ.
Advanced Excel proficiency and agility using ERPs (Odoo experience is a plus).

Nice to have

Tax Optimization Projects: Review and refine current accounting and tax processes to eventually implement policies that secure tax benefits for Odoo Technologies.
Product Improvement: Provide technical support to the product development team to ensure the software complies with current Mexican regulations.
