Whenever Cat Society receives a donation, the team immediately imports the bank statement into Odoo Accounting. After that, Joey can immediately validate the donation and generate a receipt to send to donors, achieving same-day turnaround. All procedures can be done from the same window within Odoo.
Even with different volunteers handling invoicing, billing, and communication with external parties, Joey gets an instant overview of the NGO’s cash flow, pending bills, and receipts to validate on the Accounting dashboard.
When in doubt, Joey can always refer to the records in Odoo, as everything is updated in real time there. This has not only empowered the team to work more efficiently towards the same goal but also helped build Cat Society’s reputation and donor trust in the long run.
“Odoo Accounting has made things so much more convenient. In a few clicks, reconciliation is done,” says Joey. What used to take a few months with excessive manual effort can now be completed on Odoo in seconds.
First, the system automatically pulls transactions via CSV import, populating the reconciliation widget. Odoo then suggests matches by comparing statement labels to outstanding invoices.
Simply click "Validate" for perfect matches or use the Reconciliation Models to automate recurring expenses like bank fees. This process eliminates manual errors, ensures the Odoo record matches the real-world statement, and provides Joey with a real-time, accurate view of the NGO’s cash flow.
When the Hong Kong Cat Society moved into its current home earlier this year, the community responded with an outpouring of generosity.
