I've tried on our DB, a backup DB from last week to do some testing, and a new DB and it can be reproduced in all cases.
I will update a backup to 18.1 to review again.
When you add a description to a product inside a quote, once exported to pdf, or previewed, only the description is showing, it voids the product name.
Anyone else?
it appears to still not be solved, same issue happened when using a quotation template with product and description

This was also reported a few hours ago to our Support team. They have replicated the issue and have notified our developers.
I was able to replicate same issue, but different situation, but using Product with Variant. Create a quote template. Quote using the template will be missing the Product Variant Name, unless we override the description on the quote. As soon as the description on the quote does not match the template, the Product Variant name will appear.
