I'm testing OpenERP 7 Project and i do not understand how can i use the Gantt view (Project/Task > gantt) :

This gantt show all tasks (of project task or selection) in the single view without scaling options (i do not find anything). So with several tasks and/or pojects the gantt became wide (very wide) : you can of course scroll in the navigator but you do not see the label, so you don't know what you see...

I also find to way to print the gantt : it was an important document for meeting...

OpenERP has many nice option and data for project management but Gantt view seems to be not useful in real world, but i probably miss something, i'm a novice.

Did you figure this out? I am having a similar problem. I can view a perfect Gantt chart for ONE project, but Gantt view of all project shows just a list of projects with one block for the start date. Frustrating.

AFAIK the Gantt view is really, really limited, and quite unusable at the moment. No zoom feature, no print feature. It seems we would have to hack (write) some extension to make it work.

If your problem is that there are too many records and you want to only see certain tasks (eg. the tasks of particular projects), you should use the search bar. It will limit the view to what you search exactly.
