I have a product that is traceable with serial numbers. The product is used for manufacturing our main product, but is malfunctioning. I need to replace the item with a new one, thus a new serial number. How do I do this such that traceability is still intact?

With a repair order, you would be able to replace the faulty product while providing the serial Number
Once a manufacturing order is completed and a serial number is assigned, you cannot change the serial number directly. To change a serial number in this scenario, you need to unbuild the manufacturing order and create a new one with the new serial number.
