Hello everyone,

I'm currently configuring Odoo to manage the usage of raw materials during the production process in my company. I'd like to understand whether this can be done using Odoo's standard features or if I need to make custom adjustments.

My questions are:

1. Does Odoo have built-in features for recording the actual usage of raw materials during production?

2. If yes, how can I enable and effectively use these features?

3. If not, are there any recommended additional modules or customizations for this purpose?

I want to ensure that we can accurately track the usage of raw materials in Odoo, and I appreciate any guidance or suggestions you can provide.

Thank you very much for your assistance!

Yes you can.  There are a few settings to take care of:

1. In Manufacturing Configuration settings, select 'Unlock Manufacturing order'.

2. In the BOM on tab Miscellaneous flag Fexible consumption. (With or without warning)

Then it depends on wether you use work centers or not. And then wether you use tracing (lot or serial numbers) on components.

If you do not use Work orders you can change consumption directly in the manufacturing order.  And in the BOM flag the component with manual consumption.  This field is flagged automatic if you use Lot/serial number. The field is hidden by default.

If you use work centers and work orders, then install the Quality app. If your product is managed by lot or serial number, a step will automatic be created in the work order to confirm consumption.

If your component is not managed ny lot/serial number, then create a Quality Control point in the Quality app.  Register it with Operation= Manufacturing and the the Work order operation.  Set the type = 'Register Consumed Material' and fill in the component.  Then it will create a step in the work order the same way as with a component with tracing.
