Using Odoo14 Community POS

We need to create weight embedded POS barcodes.

We are selling predefined packs (based on weight) of the products, and want to show the price of the pack that has been scanned at the terminal i.e. 0.257kg, 1.36kg, 2.47kg. 


For Weight Embedded barcodes we are using EAN-13 format. 

214321000000 in the barcode field locates the correct product.

214321000500 in the barcode field same product, weight = 500g (0.5kg) the product is not found.

Message "The Point of Sale could not find any product, client, employee or action associated with the scanned barcode."


How do we configure the products to recognise the weight within the barcode.

We have tried with price embedded barcodes and get the same message.

We have correctly configured POS products for price and and weight (using the electronic scale.

Julien,

Thank you this was very helpful and solved the problem.  I also needed to make another change. The Price in the barcode rule must be set to Product for Odoo to recognise the weight in the barcode.
