Currently, I am using Odoo online. I am selling personalization products that I am manufacturing. I am trying to setup the manufacturing app to help production. I have everything automated to create a Manufacturing order automatically from the sales order, however I cannot figure out how to pass the free text "customization" that never makes a variant to the Manufacturing order. So, when I am creating products I have to keep going back to the sales order to see the specifics for each product.
Is it possible to pass a product attribute that is set to never create a variant to the manufacturing order?
This is exactly what I am looking for, however I do not have a "custom description" field on the manufacturing order screen. Do I need to toggle a setting somewhere?
I tried to post an image, but it appears I do not have enough "karma".
Did you use Replenish On Order to create the Manufacturing Order?
I did some digging and it appears that I may not... My workflow has been: create a Product and BOM, then when a quotation is converted to an SO, I go to the Inventory Replenishment and click "automate" so it will flow through to a Manufacturing order. Do I need to switch to the MTO routes?
I tested it with MTO and it worked. There is a link between the SO and MO and I assume that it is used for this functionality.
That is exactly the answer I needed. My issue was that I was running everything by selecting manufacture on product=>inventory and then automating replenishments...
I enabled MTO and then selected that as well as manufacturing on the product inventory tab and it worked exactly as Jaideep had showed.
Thank You!!
Great! Odoo seems not to encourage the use of MTO / Replenish on Order, but it can be very useful.
