Up untill odoo 16 you had an "updates" list for the apps when you're in developer mode which gave you a list of modules that could be updated with the local and remote versions and after you uploaded the new versions you could update the modules from this list.
I recently updated to odoo 17 and miss this feature.
Anyone have any idea why this is no longer available or is this done automatically now?
Odoo is the world's easiest all-in-one management software.
It includes hundreds of business apps:
- CRM
- e-Commerce
- Accounting
- Inventory
- PoS
- Project
- MRP

Thanks for your reply.
Should this work with odoo 17 community as well, because i´m not seeing any update buttons and i know there are newer versions available on apps.odoo.com.
If i upload the newer versions to the server i can update them, but in odoo 16 you had that list with local and remote versions so i knew which ones i had to download. Now i have to check all extra modules manually and it´s time consuming so i really liked this feature in the earlier versions.
Also when i manually upload a newer version of a module and restart server + update module list, i don't see any upgrade button, just the new version number under app info, but no indication that you still have to update it.
I also found a module names cetmix_app_sture_update_notifier that alerts for available updates, but it has much to be desired for as it only shows 1 available module in the e-mail. You have to update the mentioned module and run the notifier again untill it stops sending emails.
If you want to see a list of available module updates in Odoo 17, follow these steps:
1. Enable Developer Mode
- Go to Settings > General Settings
- Scroll down and activate Developer Mode
2. Check for Module Updates
- Navigate to Apps
- Click on ‘Update Apps List’ (at the top-right corner)
- If updates are available, they will be shown with an "Update" button
3. Update the Modules
- Go to Apps > Installed Modules
- Search for modules with an Update button next to them
- Click Update on the required modules
4. Verify Module Versions
- In Apps, filter by "Installed" and check module versions
- Compare the version with the latest available updates
If you are using Odoo Enterprise, ensure your subscription is active to receive official updates.
